Women's day midweek hike ...
Castle Gorge

What better way to spend Women’s Day than a midweek hike at Castle Gorge, especially as my husband was working?    Foothold was on the programme but somehow I remembered reading an email stating that there would also be a hike at Castle Gorge – much nearer to home.   Marje, Merle, Denise, Sylvia, Judy, Mike and myself met at about 09h00 at the parking lot.  Merle led the way and gave us all a really interesting and enjoyable hike.

The focus was on women and a comment was made that its men's day every day!! Mike, being rather outnumbered, kept quiet.  Merle said she wanted to see what her butler (being herself!!) had made her for lunch so Mike responded that he must check to see what his wife had put into his neatly packed lunch box!!!!  Well done for women.

A relaxing lunch was had at Paranha Pools but the water was rather cold for a dip!!  We then slowly made our way back to the car park where Judy offered cold drinks, which went down very well.

It was a glorious way to spend Women’s Day and we hope Mike enjoyed himself too.  I look forward to the next public holiday on a Wednesday as hiking certainly beats working.
