Bartletts Farm

To find Bartlett’s Farm follow any signs to the Sparkling Waters Hotel and continue 1,5km. past the hotel until the Kranskloof sign on the right at R34.

The two well-marked circular trails are graded easy to moderate and are about 8 to 10 km. long.

The Moepel Trail winds through kloofs and returns via interesting mushroom rock formations.

The Frithia Trail goes fairly gently to the escarpment where there are good views onto the southern slopes of the Magaliesberg.  Look for the evidence of an old lightning strike on the way up.

The trails begin and end at a base camp that is in a dense clump of indigenous trees.

There can be water on both trails but it is prudent to take your own especially in dry spells.

At the base camp there are camping sites and also a hut with 10 double bunk beds with mattresses.  A minimum of 10 persons are required for the hut.
