Bluebird Farm

Explore little known kloofs in the warm autumn sunshine. Take it easy to the ridge, explore the fortifications and superb kloofs. There are pleasant views of the valley to the south. Amble back after a leisurely lunch

Booking required on this special.. Start the day with a breakfast, followed by a hike along the Jukskei River.

Castle Gorge

A favourite.  Once you’ve made it to the saddle head off and explore. The rock formations will amaze you if you just use your imagination – chess pieces, dogs, seals. Relax by the pools or the magnificent waterfall for lunch, swim, then head back to the car park. Magnificent views and exquisite rock formations, take a refreshing dip in a rock pool.

Walk on a game farm with splendid views of mountains and plains. Many animals to be seen.

Peglerae

Stand on top of the cliff and watch the vultures soar below. Peglerae is a rugged but rewarding hike in winter due to the abundance of Peglerae aloes. A very steep bundu bash to the summit, reveals breathtaking views of Hartebeespoort Dam.

Foothold hike

Take the chain ladder, Footloose Gully, Jubilee Gap or Marjean Pass to the escarpment.  Stop en route for a breather and take in the wonderful vistas and keep an eye open for vultures that soar overhead.  Enjoy a braai afterwards.
