EVENT TYPES

Nature Camp – Accommodation ranges from luxury chalets to own tents in basic bush camp. Bird, game and general ecological viewing, walks, and drives. Facilities vary from full to nil, genrally self catering.

Camp – Accommodation from luxury chalets to own tents in established campsites. Day hikes of various ratings. Facilities vary from full to nil, generally self catering.

Nature Trail – Generally a guided event by an authority in a game park, with varying accommodation.

Base Hut Trail – Circular marked trails, radiating from base accommodation of varying standards and facilities – usually dormitory type with mattresses. Day packs only, self catering, cars nearby.

Hutted/Cave Trail – Arrival hut with overnight huts/caves of varying luxury and facilities, along a marked trail. Accommodation usually dormitory with mattresses. Food and equipment carried in backpacks.

Wilderness Trail – Hiking on remote unmarked paths, tracks or off-track – often challenging. Overnight in own tents (shared) or caves.  Food and equipment carried in backpacks.
