Roodepoort's Kloofendal Nature Reserve has a variety of indigenous trees, proteas, orchids and other flora.  Stop and relax at the attractive rocky koppie.  On the western side is a stone amphitheatre which is used for open-air events.  Two circular walking trails can be enjoyed by the visitors.  The pass the old Confidence Reef Gold-Mine shaft (now a national monument), a small dam.  There are various geological and botanical sites of interest.

The air is filled with the songs of more than 120 recorded bird species. The 150 ha reserve is home to more than 120 notes bird species.  It is open daily.
